Classroom Guides - Crawler Room (New Berlin)

Return to Our Curriculum Main Page

Welcome to the Crawler Room

We would like to welcome you to the crawler room. In this room, we work on large motor skills such as walking (if not already) and small motor skills such as using a spoon. Social skills are developed by group snack, lunch, art, and reading time. Children experience a wide variety of options during big room time and outside time.

In the crawler room, we encourage the use of a sipper cup and trying new foods. Although we do have a daily schedule, times may vary due to the children's schedules, inclement weather, etc. We are always available for any questions or concerns that you may have. We look forward to caring for your child.

Teachers

Ms. Linda
I have been married to my husband Ken since 1976. We have 2 wonderful kids Kim and Ken II. I enjoy racing (our race car is a 68 super bee, it goes 10 seconds in the quarter mile), gardening, reading, and stenciling. I had a home care for 15 years, worked in corporate America for 3 years and realized my heart was with children, not computers. I am a natural nurturer, I love children! I want to give them all that I can so that they may grow and develop into loving and caring individuals.

Ms. Mary
Hi! Im Mrs. Mary, otherwise known as Grandma Mary. I started working at Learning Edge in July of 2006. I have been working with children age birth thru 5 years for over 20 years! My husband, Dennis, and I have 3 daughters, 1 son, son-in-law and 5 precious grandchildren. We have also fostered 28 special children since 1981. In my spare time I enjoy scrap booking and camping with my family. I look forward to meeting you and working with your children.

Cognitive & Sensory

Through the use of finger plays and songs we enhance the children's motor as well as cognitive skills. They learn simple things like waving, clapping, and peek-a-boo. Through art projects, we enhance sensory skills such as finger painting, painting with brushes, using stampers and playing with different textures (for example: cool whip, water and soap, and pudding).
